WARP7 is a high school robotics team, one of the first teams in Canada to join FIRST Robotics. From Western Technical-Commercial School in Toronto started by 7 students and is now made up of over 50 dedicated students and mentors two decades after. We participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition, an annual worldwide engineering challenge that includes thousands of teams.
We have been working for over two decade to inspire more students. Our goal is to go above and beyond the high school curriculum and educate students on how to design and build robotics systems using industry standard materials and tools. We give students the opportunity to work together in teams to problem solve and innovate.
As one of the oldest teams in Toronto, WARP7 has participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition since 2002. We’ve grown from a 7-member group of friends into an extensive group of students, parents, teachers, and alumni all passionate about furthering education in the STEAM fields.

The FIRST Robotics Competitions are tournaments involving science and technology where the main challenge is to build a robot over the course of six weeks. In these six weeks we design, manufacture, assemble and program our robot to perform the tasks on a field against competitors. Students on FIRST teams get real world experience in engineering and robotics which help them further their education and expand their knowledge.
