VIRTUAL FIRST LEGO LEAGUE
Our Virtual FIRST LEGO League program was sparked by a promise to help train members of one of the FLL teams we mentor in the spring of 2020. Unfortunately this plan was derailed by the COVID19 pandemic and the closure of schools. Though this didn't stop us, we were determined to find a way to bring robotics to the kids. We decided to use the Virtual Robotics Toolkit and Google Classroom to run a 6 week online program. Each week we gave the students 1 challenge to complete using the toolkit and a virtual EV3 robot and met with them via Google Meet to give them support. This allowed the members to learn coding concepts and improve their coding skills to put to use next FLL season.
